The book gives an important concept to life – the concept of Future Self. It is clear that present is often influenced by the Past and the Future. Imagine how excited you are to go on a vacation that is to come – an excited future self is a happy present self.

The concept of Future self adds value and meaning in the present. Keeping the future self in the mind and acting in present makes your life smooth and meaningful. 

The book is divided in 3 main Parts. The Part 1 talks about threats to future self. This part talks about how not keeping the future self in mind can make you loose yourself in day to day life demands and urgencies. 

The Part 2 talks about talks about the importance of future self in life. It emphasises details of future self and its importance in the present and how it can improve your life. 

Part 3 talks about the steps for being your future self – by clarifying your purpose, eliminating lower goals and other techniques.

The book encompasses an important concept and how it can radically change your outlook making the present self more meaningful and responsible. But the book drags quite a bit in expanding the topic making it quite a boring read and challenging to finish it. The reviews on Goodreads are filled with criticism of the same – converting a blog concept to a lengthy repetitive book. May be it’s the authors style to write in the same way. One you know the concept further reading won’t add much value. The same can be seen in the author’s other book – Gap and Gain.

The book is also priced at a significant high price and when weighed against the value it does fall short. A good life changing concept – a proper way is to skim the book for quick read rather than detailed reading which can make you feel bored and think about when it will end or you may just drop it in between. 

Overall, a life changing concept – but a good advice would be to get the overall concept and skim the book.
